MetaMedia Redesigning Foreman Training Materials for United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers

MetaMedia Training International, Inc. (MetaMedia) is working with the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers and the Roofers and Waterproofers Research and Education Joint Trust Fund (Research and Education Trust) to redesign and update their current foreman training and safety program. Rolled out in 2009, the Foreman Training Program is a labor and management collaboration guided by roofing professionals from around the country to address critical issues that provide roofing foremen with the vital tools they need to do their jobs efficiently and safely, and to deal with management issues they may face on a daily basis.

Interactive Safety Training Programs for Maritime Workers
MetaMedia to Develop Interactive Safety Training Programs for Maritime Workers

MetaMedia Training International, Inc. (MetaMedia), has been awarded a grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) to develop interactive scenario-based training programs to help prevent, mitigate, and respond to tragic and avoidable incidents related to hazardous materials in the maritime industry. MetaMedia has partnered with the Institute for Disaster and Emergency Preparedness (IDEP) at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU-COM) to develop a library of HazMat scenarios that will be integrated into existing and ongoing hazardous materials training that is overseen by NSU-COM through their 5 year NIH-funded grant, South East Area Maritime Industry Safety Training project (SEAMIST).

MetaMedia and NRA Release New Pistol Shooting DVD

MetaMedia Training International, Inc. and the National Rifle Association’s Education & Training Division have recently released their jointly created Basics of Pistol Shooting training program on DVD. The hour-long program is available with a user manual and addresses how to safely operate, clean, and select a pistol for use in a variety of shooting activities. Designed for both individual and classroom instruction, Pistol Shooting provides viewers with the proper attitude and knowledge required for firearm ownership.

Metamedia Wins two SBIR Grants to Produce First Responder Mobile Learning and Mine Safety Training

MetaMedia Training International, Inc. has been awarded a pair of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) to develop multimedia training programs for first-responder and miner safety.

Personal Protection Outside the Home DVD Wins CINE Golden Eagle Award

The NRA and MetaMedia Training International have won a CINE Golden Eagle Award for their Personal Protection Outside The Home DVD in the category of Business – Safety, Training, and Employee Development. The training-oriented DVD is based on NRA’s Basic Personal Protection Outside The Home Course, developed by NRA’s Education & Training Division and taught to the public by NRA Certified Instructors.
