President and CEO Tom Held founded MetaMedia Training International, Inc. more than two decades ago in Germantown, Maryland. Known at the time as MetaMedia Systems, the company specialized in the design of interactive laserdisc and CD-ROM instructional programs.

The original MetaMedia was later acquired by leading global information firm Reed Elsevier. As the new millennium approached, Mr. Held was encouraged by the industry to once again build a leading education and training business. The “new” MetaMedia was born and, in adding the next generation of media — including DVD, the Internet, eLearning, and now mobile (mLearning) applications — to its core competencies, has once again emerged as one of the industry’s most advanced training solutions firms.

Today, our customer base has grown to include global corporations in a host of industries, international associations, not-for-profit organizations, federal agencies, and other public-sector organizations. Few can claim MetaMedia’s depth of expertise and in-house capabilities for the design and production of effective training and communication programs.

We’ve produced thousands of hours of instructional media over the years, leading to improved performance and a more productive workplace environment.
